Shire Folk is a FREE A5 magazine published 6 times a year, containing details of folk music and dance activities in the South-East Midlands - in an area roughly within a 30 mile radius from Oxford. At present we print and distribute 1,800 copies, which implies a readership of about 3,000.

In it you will find a Diary of folk music and dance clubs, a pub sessions list, reviews of recently-released CDs, and articles and comment on the local folk world. There is a Morris Diary in the May/June and July/August issues. Advertising is welcome for any folk-related subject - see the 'Advertise' page for rates and copy date. Articles are also welcome - give me a ring to discuss length & photos etc before you write.

Subscriptions: To receive a copy of the magazine you will need to send SAEs to us, rather than money. Mark them top left 'Shire Folk' and the issue number (see Advertise page) you want. The envelopes should be C5 to take A5, and gummed or peel & seal (self-seal dry out in months), with a standard 1st or 2nd class stamp - currently 46p or 36p. Feel free to send 6 for the year, and mark them 1/6, 2/6 etc. You will receive the magazine as soon as it's published. Send them to the address on the CONTACT page.
